Karate Belt Obviously, there are lots of belts out there. When I was a kid, I was inspired to tell the truth.  No, I was not inspired by a person.  I was not inspired by an ideal or philosophy.  I was inspired to tell the truth by a belt.  A belt that I affectionately named “Ed”.  Why did I name this belt “Ed”?  I named it this because this belt belonged to my father.  Engraved on the the belt is his name “Ed”.  I never knew why Dad put his name on his belt.  Perhaps if he was lost, hit with a rock and had amnesia, he could remember that his name was Ed.   Now I had particular dread for this certain belt because it was this belt that was used to discipline me as a kid.  So, if I lied or disobeyed, my Dad would tell me to go and get the belt.  I knew which belt he was talking about.  He want
