Love & Marriage: Simple Rules for Wives

Image
Love & Marriage: Simple Rules for Wives Illustration: Last Saturday we were wrapping up a busy day at the football fields.  Boy it was a long day.  A hot day.  I am a coach on both Jay and Jack’s team.  So, after both of them play their games, I am pretty tired.  Angela is exhausted too.  While I get to coach and watch the game, she is on Jett duty.  Nevertheless, we were both super tired after it was all done.  So, we pack everything up and I am carrying everything to her car.  We have tents, chairs, bags, food, drinks, and coolers.  Going to these games is a real ordeal but it is fun.  When I arrived to the car I started putting things into the trunk.  I suppose I was not paying much attention and as I was heaving stuff into the car, my ring finger on my left hand caught the end of a chair and it hyperextended my finger.   It hurt.  It hurt real bad.   Naturally, I went on my way.  We ha...

Waking The Dead

Waking The Dead Do You Ever Feel Like You're Falling Apart? Ezekiel 37:1-10 (NASB) The hand of the LORD was upon me, and He brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones. [2] He caused me to pass among them round about, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley; and lo, they were very dry. [3] He said to me, "Son of man, can these bones live?" And I answered, "O Lord GOD, You know." [4] Again He said to me, "Prophesy over these bones and say to them, ''O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.'' [5] "Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones, ''Behold, I will cause breath to enter you that you may come to life. [6] ''I will put sinews on you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin and put breath in you that you may come alive; and you will know that I am the LORD.''" [7] So I prophesied as I was commanded; and...

Love & Marriage: Simple Rules For Husbands

Love & Marriage: Simple Rules For Husbands Introduction: As I have said in many sermons, I love my wife.  I do.  I have also said that she loves me.  I really believe that.  We have a good marriage.  We have been together for over 21 years.  16 of those years I have spent married to her.  You would think that after all that time together I would know her better.  Don’t get me wrong, I know her but I have still not mastered the art of reading her mind.   Angela will tell you that this is a huge frustration to her as she seems to be able to read my mind quite frequently.   Gentlemen, that’s how it is isn’t it.  Most of us are pretty easy reads.  We don’t need much.  We need food.  Food is good.  We need clothing.  We need a chair.  Not just any chair.  We need our chair.  The chair that has the indention of our butt in it.  That chair belongs to us and no one else is allo...
